It began when the town committee wanted to throw a bash for the American Bicentennial in 1976, but since then has grown into a global-class festival of epic proportions. Every year the festival celebrates a new country. This year it was England, next year it could be anything! Festival goers have plenty to keep busy, with hundreds of entertainers, night parades and the one Grand Parade that everyone has to see. It is an educational event that teaches about local tejano culture and about the chosen country. Sumptuous food, music and dance traditions have made BorderFest an absolute must-see event.
